Action that does not have commentary, players phasing through seats, and players celebrating with no one around in cutscenes. Ultimate Team menus that crash mid-squad edit and work only after a console restart.
These are not issues EA FC 25 seeks to address. The oddities of FC 25 are diverse and drawn from various games. The odd commentary, however, are frustrating. The lines EA uttered are not false, but simply default responses. You will hear the commentator celebrate a "brilliant save" when the ball has no chance of cooperating. You will witness your manager teleport mid-substitution. You will simply not be able to move forward within Ultimate Team, simply because the game decides to freeze mid-pack opening.
This is expected for longtime players, but that sure doesn’t mean it’s okay. These concerns cause your immersion in FC 25 to still feel unpolished, even with improvements; the same issues remain.
Environmental Impacts: A Realistic Career Mode Enhancement
The improvement with FC 25 is the weather issues. Wind, rain, and even the pitch have a measurable effect on how matches are played offline, e.g., crosses, long shots, and even player falling. FC 25 adds these authenticity-boosting factors, which are well-implemented but also change the fun.
My Manager's Career with a mid-table Ligue 1 team had an away match against Brest, and it was raining. Brest’s weather impacted the match. Wind made set pieces uncontrollable and away from my control, compelling me to give up on my tiki-taka style. When something feels new and, most importantly, real during gameplay, it makes it a distinct experience.
However here is the interesting aspect: lacking those features in multiplayer. Electronic Arts tends to ensure the environment stable for ranked playlists for example FUT and Seasons, most likely to reduce issues over "uncontrollable elements". Naturally, no one enjoys to fail a contest because a gust of wind carried their strike into the void, but the niche realism community is on the rise. Enable those who want a full simulation activate their setting.
Hence, Is grabbing EA Sports FC 25 A Worthy Purchase?
For dedicated followers, gamers who buy PS5 sports games, the new version will scarcely warrant the purchase. That said, the Rush mode feature is excellent, as are the local environmental changes. The realism is satisfying. The lack of fresh content, persistent game issues, and absence of networked weather features are unfortunate. If you're not a lover of sports simulations, you can do without, or preferably, try the older title that you will get for less.
